Commonly used sand blasting or shot blasting rust removal method Sand blasting rust removal is the use of compressed air, a certain size of sand sprayed on the rusted parts of the surface through the spray gun, not only rapid rust removal, but also for painting, spraying, plating, etc. The surface is prepared by the process, and the sandblasted surface can achieve a clean surface with a certain roughness, so as to improve the binding force between the overlay and the parts.

   The commonly used sand blasting methods include dry blasting, wet blasting, dustless blasting, and high pressure water blasting. Dry sandblasting is dusty, which hinders environmental protection and harms health. Although the wet method has no dust, water will make the surface rust again. The prevention method is to add 1% to 15% of rust inhibitor (trisodium phosphate, sodium carbonate, sodium nitrite, etc.) and emulsifier or soapy water to the water so that the surface will no longer rust in a short period of time, and then Apply maintenance primer. Dustless sandblasting is a continuous circulation of sand, sandblasting and sand collection in a closed system to prevent dust from flying. High pressure water blasting is mainly used for large areas of rust removal, such as hulls, oil tanks, oil tanks, boilers, etc. Water often also add passivation agent and soapy water.

   Shot blasting or sand blasting

   1, rust quality level requirements

   1 All steel surfaces to be coated with water-based inorganic zinc-rich coatings must be shot blasted or blasted to ISO8501-1 (GB8923-88) Sa2.5.

   2 When the coating is partially repaired, the surface of the steel must be ground to ISO8501-1 (GB8923-88) St3.

   2. Surface roughness requirements: The surface roughness needs to be controlled in the range of 35 to 65 μm.

   3, abrasive

   1 In order to ensure the cleanliness and surface roughness of the steel surface after blasting or spalling, it is recommended to use angular or bead-like stainless steel sand with a grain size of 0.3-0.8mm.

   2 The abrasive used should be clean and dry and must not be contaminated by organic matter.

   4, compressed air: blasting with compressed air, the pressure should not be less than 0.5MPa.
